Five, $1,000 awards provided

Cincinnati Eastside Rotary announced today that it has awarded five, $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors at local high schools.  The awards are intended to help defray college expenses.

The scholarship recipients exceeded eligibility requirements through their outstanding academic performance, involvement in extracurricular activities, and strong commitment to service and the tenets of Rotary.  Receiving awards for the 2017-18 academic year were Maria Cardarelli (Amelia High School) attending Xavier University; Kristina Cass (Amelia High School) attending Brigham Young University; Robert Duff (Amelia High School) attending Ohio University; Bradley Grosjean (Miami Valley Christian Academy) attending Ohio State University; and Kristina Hodges (Amelia High School) attending the University of Cincinnati.

Award winners will study a broad array of discipline areas including engineering, communications and planning, and occupational therapy with a common bond to improve the communities in which they will study, work and reside.  Recipients and their families were honored at a recent weekly luncheon meeting of Cincinnati Eastside Rotary.
