Did you know that many children in the foster care system get transported by Clermont Job & Family Services staff to new foster homes all over the state each month with their belongings in a plastic bag? A long drive from Cincinnati to Cleveland, for example, can create nervousness and anxiety among the children.
To make their transition a little easier, at the Wednesday February 22 meeting, the Cincinnati Eastside Rotary Club members put together handsome, name-tagged, personal travel bags which include an amazon Fire laptop as well as snacks, personal notes, and other goodies to make their travels a little easier. Our Bags-for-Children project took place during our regular meeting and was a project that perfectly aligned with our service focus…the children in our area!
