Do you ever wonder how children who are removed from their families get placed into a foster care home? Aimee Burke, Clermont County Child Protection Services, shared stats with us and introduced us to Sharon Wiesenhahn who works with Wendy’s Wonderful Kids through the Dave Thomas Foundation. Sharon is dedicated to finding permanent families for children in foster care who are most often overlooked. That includes teenagers, children with special needs and siblings. The recruiters with Wendy’s Wonderful Kids use an evidence-based, child-focused recruitment model to find the right family for every child. A rigorous, five-year national evaluation revealed that children referred to the program are up to 3x more likely to be adopted.
We appreciate their work supporting our children!
